Amalfi was an independent republic from the 7th century to 1075. The town, surrounded by cliffs and the sea, with its typical blue and yellow mosaics, the cascade of colorful houses, the magnificent cathedral with dates back to the 13th century, is a wonderful location for a destination wedding in Italy.

The NH Grand Hotel Convento is one of the most beautiful and charming location of the Amalfi Coast.

With a five-stars luxury rating, this hotel was once home to Capuchin monks and it is located on a cliff edge overlooking the sea.

From New York to Amalfi for an unforgettable destination wedding in Italy

Kristina has long blond hair and blue eyes and Joshua  is a distinguished and elegant young man. They are  both from the Big Apple and both medical professionals.

For the occasion Kristina wore a wonderful dress by Inbal Raviv, from the White Gypsy collection. Inspired by the intriguing beauty and free spirit that we usually attribute to the gypsy world, this soft and light dress embellished with embroidery and stones  contributed to giving Kristina lightness and brightness, perfectly combining with the natural and vivid shades of peach, orange and yellow that dictated the style of the entire event, including the bouquet and the table decorations. Joshua opted for a blue suit, elegant and sober that added lively contrasting notes, perfectly harmonizing with the yellow of the lemons, the bright green of the leaves and the intense blue of the surrounding sea.

An evocative Jewish ceremony set in the cloister of the Grand Hotel Convento

A few steps from the historic center of Amalfi and the harbor, the NH Hotel Convento di Amalfi is set on a cliffs 80 meters above the sea.

Since 1997 it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to the incomparable panoramic view that surrounds it and its privileged position overlooking the sea. In addition, it preserves historical riches of unquestionable value, including the fascinating Arab-Norman cloister dating back to the 13th century, the marvellous chapel of San Francesco and, finally, the Passeggiata dei Monaci that offers glimpses of the incomparable beauty of the Amalfi Coast.

A romantic outdoor dinner on the Locanda’s Terrace

The Convento hotel boasts three wonderful terraces that can host aperitifs, lunches and dinners with breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast.

After the ceremony in the cloister and a short photo session on the Amalfi pier, Kristina and Joshua met with their guests on the Terrace of the Locanda, adjacent to the infinity pool and with  evocative  and romantic views of the Amalfi Coast and the Convent.

The restaurant offers tastings of the most typical Mediterranean culinary tradition, an almost mystical experience for palates from overseas!
