Hanna and Sebastien’s wedding day is the epitome of Amalfi Coast perfection. They chose to host their celebration at Belmond Hotel Caruso. Once an ancient palace that sits on the edge of the coastline, it is now a luxury five-star hotel where couples from all over the world travel to for that all-important ‘I Do’ moment. The setting itself really is a photographer’s dream, with romantic gardens, fairy lights that endlessly twinkle in olive trees and its iconic infinity pool. The backdrops on offer are to-die-for!
Our bride, Hannah, wore delicate florals in her hair teamed with an off-the-shoulder gown by DariaKarlozi, featuring a corset-style bodice, tulle gown and statement sleeves. Her half-up, half-down hairstyle was worn in loose waves, while her bridesmaids donned dusky blue gowns (with the maid of honour in rose pink) and dainty corsages on their wrists.
Traditional Italian lemon trees framed the aisle of their religious church ceremony, along with urns filled with peach, coral and ivory blooms by Malafronte Fiori. Foliage lined the pews, adding a botanical touch to their ceremony space. After they had exchanged their vows, I took Hanna and Sebastien to some of Belmond Hotel Caruso’s most renowned photograph spots – including the walkway, which is covered with a romantic trellis and greenery. It is always such a pleasure to steal couples away for an hour or two during the wonderful blur that is their wedding day. It offers them an opportunity to pause time, savour the moment and really soak up the significance of the day. And, well, it’s my job to capture this series of emotions on camera!
This Ravello wedding venue lends itself beautifully to an outdoor reception, with Hanna and Sebastien creating a stylish lounge area for their guests to relax and unwind in. A mixture of round and rectangle tables were decorated with exquisite blooms, pale blue charger plates and soft pink linens. The team at Geg Party Service worked their magic providing the rentals, while Antares Events provided spectacular lighting options for the couple’s wedding at Belmond Hotel Caruso. Fresh fruit (including lemons) also added a summery touch the couple’s tablescapes – and of course, a subtle nod towards Italian culture. Hanging glass lanterns filled with tea lights hung from the olive trees, which really did look magical as the sun set and the evening drew, with guests wining and dining under the stars.
As an Italian wedding photographer, there are several elements of the day that I feel are particularly important to capture, including the speeches. Hanna and Sebastien’s were incredibly emotional, from the happy tears, the heartfelt hugs, the reminiscing, the making memories. It brings me so much joy to know that the newlyweds have these moments to treasure forever, to look back on, and to relive.
