Say “Buongiorno” to John & Megan’s classically elegant wedding at Villa Cimbrone, one of the loveliest blueprints for what having a timeless Italian celebration is all about!
The Persian- Irish attorney and her Polish-Mexican extreme-traveler beau are not only two avid globetrotters and Michelin star dinner aficionados but have a soft spot for wine tasting and far-flung expeditions. This was in fact what brought the gorgeous duo from Chicago to the Coast back in 2017. John told Megan “we need to see Ravello”. When they stumbled upon Villa Cimbrone they instantly fell for the manicured grounds that have hosted some of history’s most illustrious (including Virginia Woolf, Greta Garbo, and Winston Churchill) and knew they wished to tie the knot in its historical gardens even if the weren’t even engaged yet. After all, for a gal who adores her Disney “Beauty and the Beast” romance, it was just the perfect world to live it in.
Two years forward, their September Villa Cimbrone wedding was turning into reality. Megan and John welcomed their closest and dearest with cocktails while on the day of the wedding the two began their separate preps in the suites of Belmond Hotel Caruso. While Alessandro Mancino Studios worked on Megan’s glamorous looks, I sided with the boys to snap some portraits of the groom, his father, and his best man and followed them to the Santa Maria a Gradillo church where the ceremony took place.
Soon after the ceremony we took Megan, with her her custom-tailored wedding gown (a dashing collaboration between Israeli Netta Benshabu and Mira Couture in Chicago) and Jhon to Cimbrone’s gardens. Wonder not why the prestigious Bloomsbury Group of writers and artists love them so much, the luscious botanical scents and lavish florals made even camera-shy Megan ease into her day and flaunt her royal beauty in their midst.
To make the legendary lush scape even more painterly, the couple sided with Exclusive Italy Weddings whose apt seminal style brought Megan and John’s wedding style vision to life, in crisp whites, soft pastels, and golds. Martina from Exclusive Italy Weddings , along with Armando from Malafronte Fiori staged the couple’s candle-lit reception dinner at the iconic crypt in full-blown romantic style making sure everything went off without a hitch.
Following the speeches and opulent Italian style feast, Megan and John cut their giant naked cake top with red fruit of the forest and danced their first as Mr. & Mrs. to “Rewrite the Stars”. If you’re a sucker for romance like yours truly, you’re probably dreaming of dancing it too!
