San Gimignano is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site
San Gimignano is a medieval town of great cultural interest. The town’s beginnings date back to the Etruscan era and it developed throughout the Middle Ages.
Almost intact, in thirtheenth and fourtheenth century style, the twon is one of the best examples in the world of urban organisation during the Middle Ages.
San Gimignano is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is famous throughout the world for its fifteen towers.
It has a well-developed tourist industry thanks to the elegance of the historical town centre, where you can find many welcoming hotels and restaurants and where you can purchase typical Tuscan food products, hand crafted articles and locally manufactured antiques.
