Usually it’s the role of the bride and groom to open the dancing at their reception, to the strains of their favourite song. Tradition says this should be a slow dance, to be danced in a romantic embrace.
If you then follow the rules of etiquette, the bride grants her second dance to her father, while the groom dances with his mother-in-law.
The third dance sees the bride dance with her father-in-law and the groom with his mother.
This is what the ‘bon ton’ recommends but the reality is that at most weddings only the etiquette of the first dance is followed.
Questo è quello che suggerisce il bon-ton, in realtà però nei matrimoni difficilmente ci si spinge oltre il primo ballo.
